Fenomena Blackberry Sesa(a)t kah ?

January 23rd, 2009 Administrator No comments

Obama Caught Speak Indonesian

Obama’s Indonesian Dazzles at State Dept

ABC News’ Kirit Radia Reports: As President Obama worked the rope-line at the State Department Thursday, a State Department staffer named Charles Silver, knowing the President once lived in Indonesia, shouted out, “good afternoon” in the local language.

Obama responded back in what Silver later told ABC News was “very good” Bahasa Indonesian. The two then chatted briefly about the neighborhood Obama once lived in.

And this is interesting quote from him:

When the staffer asked if Obama had lived in the Jakarta neighborhood where embassy staffers live, Obama replied that was for rich people, and he lived in another neighborhood with a similar name, one that Silver said is where the “real people” live.

For your knowledge, Menteng, the place where embassy staffers live is known for the place of rich people of Jakarta lived, like former president Soeharto’s family, while Obama lived in Menteng Dalam, similar name but very different place where ordinary people lived there.

The New White House

January 23rd, 2009 Administrator No comments

I was impressed with the Obama administration since the beginning of their political career, and running their race. I don’t want to talk with you about the politic, since I was not a good guy on it, let’s talk about how Obama changed the way politics work through the good use of technologies and website, and design. As you knew, they were used the social network websites as their political moves, including are Facebook, Twitter, and lots other social websites. Not to say how they design the website of the old Barack Obama campaign. Well, from the beginning, I knew this guy is different, not about race or physical attributes, but he is different than everybody else on how he take care his campaign, his moves on transitions, and now how he take care about the website of White House.

Let’s take a look a difference at how the new White House website from Bush era from this very Flickr picture.

It just very different, is it? That’s the meaning of good communication, or better, a new good guy compared to the old guy :) For your information, the website is launched at the very day when he is inaugurated on Jan 20. What’s more, they also launches twitter account @whitehouse_gov, so you fellows can track how the US’ government works. Is that awesome? I don’t know about whether it needs another social networking site, like Facebook. Tough I feels it silly. You don’t need Facebook for presidency social networking, twitter just works for updating (and may be discussing with the folks). Amazing work.

Do you know what? I heard some local Indonesian political parties or house candidates interested to run their campaign, just like Obama. What? I am absolutely sure you can’t do that. It just very different, and for several months? If someone said you can, they are just wants to empty your deep pocket (if yours are deep enough).

Mac at 25

January 23rd, 2009 Administrator No comments

I was admired the Mac back at 2000 when I worked for a newspaper publisher, and one of friend’s computer is a “Bondi Blue” iMac G3. It’s awesome toy, as the looks like. And it is awesome user interface. But, the price is high, so I set back. Later at 2007, I desperately needs new system for my desktop system, I knew it was the time for me for a Mac, and new aluminum iMac is my new toy. I loved the Mac. Here on the dawn of Mac at 25 years on this Saturday, Macworld run a series of articles showing the best of the Mac.

25 Years of the Mac

we take a look at how some of today’s trends are driving the technology of tomorrow, as well as how some of the past 25 years’ significant events brought us to where we are today. We’ve also asked some longtime members of the Mac community to share their thoughts on various aspects of the last two and a half decades.

Also:

Macworld asks:

The 25th anniversary of the Mac is bound to spark debates, particularly when it comes down to the ultimate question for Mac aficionados: Which system was the greatest Mac ever

I think it is the MacBook series. Tough I don’t have one :) The reason, it’s unbelievable cheap and affordable and powerful than other system in the same price range.
